INTRODUCTION
We will learn how to make a Home Surveillance System with using Mini PIR Motion Sensor.
It can be installed on the wall and capture images from Raspberry Pi Camera just like CCTV and send the video via email.

PROCEDURE
- Step 1- Enable Camera Interfacing in Pi-Configuration
- Step 2- Update and Upgrade Pi
sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get upgrade |
- Step 3 - Installing gpac to convert video to mp4 format
sudo apt-get install gpac |
- Step 4- Installing rpi.gpio to interface with the gpio pins
sudo apt-get install rpi.gpio |
- Step 5- Installing Python3 –Pi camera
sudo apt-get install python3-picamera |
- Step 6- Reboot Pi
sudo reboot |
- Step 7- Go to files – create folder SecurityCam
- Step 8- Create file in folder and name it SecurityCam.py
- Step 9 - Open file-paste code
- Step 10- Save and close the file
- Step 11- Go to https://myaccount.google.com/lesssecureapps
- Using sender email
- Enable Less Secure Apps
To make the code to run on boot
- Step 1- Go to terminal
crontab –e |
- Step 2- Go to the most bottom and key in this line
@reboot python3 /home/pi/SecurityCam/SecurityCam.py |
- Step 3- Press Ctrl X, Y and enter.
- Step 4 - Now the code automatically starts during boot.
